Video: Darwin, Australia

April 26, 2014 by Loren in Australia, DTour, Travel, Videos

We had a blast in the capital of Australia's Northern Territory - at the free Museum and Art Gallery, the saltwater wave pool, Aquascene fish feed, and Crocosaurus Cove. We also especially loved eating at Hanuman, Parap Market and Magic Wok. Thanks again to DoubleTree by Hilton for an amazing finale to an epic three-week #DTour of a Lifetime!

Life's really happening, so we’re doing our best to live it to the fullest by traveling near and far, eating good food, and connecting with people along the way. Follow us as we chronicle our adventures around the globe and make the most of this wild ride.

The past few weeks have been super crazy. We recently found out that my wife @kristenleary has stage four metastatic breast cancer. She has started taking a hormone therapy pill daily (tamoxifen) to shrink it. It is not in her brain or any other organs but she does have several bone lesions in her spine and pelvis so she’s also getting a bone strengthening infusion once a month. She is not in pain and she is still working. Due to the medication, she had to stop breastfeeding so we have been getting breast milk donations from a few different local people and we are so thankful. The next step will be laparoscopic surgery to remove both ovaries to continue starving the cancer of estrogen. Right now, chemotherapy and radiation are not needed but they may be needed in the future. At some point she may get additional surgery like mastectomy, but the current focus is really just to starve the cancer. It’s definitely been tough, but we are super grateful for our two beautiful little girls, and we feel surrounded with so much love and the best care we can get right now. There is currently no cure but we will keep treating it for as long as it takes. Our goal is to fight this for decades and continue on living like normal. Please keep us in your thoughts and send all of your resources and good vibes our way.
Family time on Coronado Island last weekend πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§πŸ°πŸ˜Ž (πŸ“·: @marchelle_thomson) #takemeback
Spent two and a half days in the mountains on a staff retreat with my coworkers, who happen to be eleven of the kindest, most passionate, most inspiring people I've ever known πŸ™Œ #goteam #alliance #sustainablecolorado
HUGE thanks to my super generous cousin who showed us an amazing time in Steamboat, and hooked us up with this beautiful ranch house for my birthday. It was out of cell range, covered in fresh snow, and filled with family. Just what I wanted πŸ‚β„οΈπŸ’– #steamboat #colorado #birthdaydigs #thirtythree
